Acid DyesWe are offering here the Acid Dyes of various types that affix to fibers by hydrogen bonding, Van der Waals forces and ionic bonding. While some acid dyes work in water, many choose to activate dyes in acid dye-baths instead. The dyes are typically used to dye natural protein (wool and silk), synthetic polyamide (nylon) and to a small extent acrylics and blends of these fibres. They are so called because they are applied to these fibres from dye bath in acidic or neutral conditions. Acid Dyes are reasonably easy to apply, have a wide range of colours and, depending on dye selection, can have good colour fastness properties. |
